Master Plan for Knoll Farm, Fayston, VT prepared by the Vermont Design Institute, July 2006

Knoll Farm houses the Center for Whole Communities a non-profit organization which hosts leadership retreats for diverse leaders from the environmental, sustainable agriculture, and social justice movements. The master planning process included site visits and mapping, research from participant surveys, land use and permit concerns, building functions, and human activity patterns.

The master plan in designed to be implementable in phases as needs and funds become available. Concerns include becoming energy independent, space for growing staff needs, privacy for residential uses, replacement of tent sites with yurt-type structures, access around the site for those less physically-able, small amphitheatre, separate dining facility, milking facility, more accessible meditation space, and remote writing hermitages.
